Surprisingly sturdy for the light weight. The controls on the handle work well and greatly improve the ability to control the camera without shaking it. Note that there is a pin in the adapter plate that only fits the Sony Camcorder models it's designed for and prevents its use with anything else, like my Nikon D-80. Very good product that does just what it says it does and no more.
I purchased this tripod to go with my Sony HDR-SR11 camera. The tripod is fairly compact and easy to tote around. It is used primarily to film my kids' games and it is the best $70 I ever spent. The handle that allows you to control the camera works awesome and makes it so easy. I think if it were any smaller or lighter, then the tripod would not be as sturdy. Overall, if you are looking for a good tripod, you can't go wrong with this one.
I was blown away by the quality of this product (for the asking price). I am a pro HD Videographer and found this to be one of the best tripod deals I have ever run across. I am using it with a Sony HDR-HC9 with no problems at all. Sturdy construction, smooth pan and tilt and plenty of height for me @ 5'9".Do not hesitate unless you're one of those people who just has to spend thousands on a tripod, which I feel is a bit ridiculous.
The compatibility of this product was poorly described, therefore upon receipt I found out it was not compatible with my video camera and it was returned.
Well wrapped and boxed so that it would not get loose and banged around with shipping. Great product. Brand new. Arrived fast and in time for me to take it on a trip with me to New Orleans, LA. The remote control put me in the picture too and I was very happy with that.
